Neville makes surprise top five prediction after Man Utd and Liverpool win as Chelsea cut adrift
Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has made a bold call on how he sees the Premier League’s top five finishing this season.
After another dramatic weekend in the title and Champions League race, Neville shared his latest predictions on The Gary Neville Podcast. Despite Chelsea slipping to defeat against Arsenal on Sunday, he still believes the Blues will secure a top-five finish, which is expected to be enough for Champions League qualification this campaign.
“I think Liverpool finish fourth and I think Chelsea will finish fifth,” Neville said, backing Liverpool to edge slightly ahead in the standings.
Chelsea’s loss saw them drop to sixth, sitting three points behind Liverpool in fifth. However, Neville remains convinced they possess the quality needed to claim one of the Champions League spots.
He also suggested that Manchester United and Liverpool are strong candidates for third and fourth respectively, with the main uncertainty surrounding the final qualifying place. “The only doubt will be Chelsea or Villa for fifth,” he explained.
Neville pointed to injuries as a key factor behind Aston Villa’s recent dip in form, highlighting the absence of important midfield figures. He noted that losing players in that area of the pitch has cost Villa in recent weeks and admitted he hopes they can still break into the top five.
The race is set for further twists, with Villa hosting Chelsea in a crucial midweek showdown that could heavily influence the battle for European qualification. Chelsea’s run-in also includes tough fixtures against fellow contenders Manchester United and Liverpool, ensuring a tense finish to the season.

Rumors debunked: Ronaldo hasn’t left Saudi Arabia
Reports claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo has left Saudi Arabia with his family and returned to Madrid are completely false.
The speculation — which alleged that Ronaldo had fled following issues in his last match for Al Nassr FC and amid tensions in the Middle East — has been firmly debunked as fake news.
According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo remains in Saudi Arabia and is currently undergoing treatment at Al Nassr’s training facilities.
The Portuguese superstar is reportedly recovering from minor problems sustained in his most recent game and has not departed the country.
Ronaldo remains fully committed to Al Nassr, where he has been a central figure since joining in 2023, and continues to focus on his duties in the Saudi Pro League as he prepares for upcoming fixtures.

Bayern Munich consider Osimhen as contingency plan amid Kane uncertainty (Details)
FC Bayern Munich are reportedly weighing up a potential move for Victor Osimhen should Harry Kane depart the club in the future.
Although Kane remains under contract in Munich until 2027 and a summer exit is considered unlikely, sporting director Max Eberl is said to be preparing for every scenario. With several top European sides and clubs from Saudi Arabia monitoring Kane’s situation, Bayern are assessing elite alternatives to avoid being caught off guard.
Osimhen, currently featuring for Galatasaray S.K., has scored 17 goals in 25 appearances this season. Head coach Vincent Kompany is understood to admire the Nigerian striker’s physicality, pace, and clinical edge.
Reports suggest Bayern are among a select group of clubs capable of activating the release clause in Osimhen’s contract — which runs until 2029 — potentially paving the way for a Bundesliga switch if Kane’s situation changes.
Meanwhile, midfielder Konrad Laimer reportedly played through ankle pain in Bayern’s recent win over Dortmund, underlining the squad’s resilience during a crucial stage of the campaign.

Barcelona fail to complete Remontada, exit Copa del Rey in semi-final (VIDEO)
FC Barcelona produced a spirited display in the second semi-final as they attempted to overturn a daunting 4-0 first-leg deficit.
The Catalans struck twice in the first half through Marc Bernal and Raphinha, igniting hopes of a famous comeback. Barcelona continued to pile on the pressure after the break, with Bernal grabbing his second of the night to make it three for the hosts.
Despite waves of attacks, numerous corners, and several clear-cut chances, the decisive fourth goal proved elusive. Atlético Madrid managed to hold firm in a pulsating encounter, ultimately prevailing 4-3 on the night to secure their place in the final.
The result means Barcelona’s title defence comes to an end, while Atleti march on with momentum firmly on their side.
