Bank ordered to reveal names of illegal Premier League streaming users to Sky
Sky is stepping up its fight against illegal Premier League streaming after securing a major legal win that will expose hundreds of suspected IPTV users.
A High Court ruling in the Republic of Ireland has ordered Revolut to hand over the personal details of 304 subscribers, along with information on 10 resellers linked to an IPTV network. The data — including names and addresses — will be shared securely with Sky within 28 days to support potential legal action.
This development follows an earlier case involving David Dunbar from County Wexford, who was hit with €480,000 (£417,259) in damages after being identified as the operator behind an illegal streaming service known as “IPTV is Easy.” Investigations revealed that subscription payments, typically ranging between €80 and €100 annually, were largely processed through his Revolut account.
Financial records presented in court showed Dunbar received nearly €119,000 from resellers, alongside additional payments exceeding €72,000 and £9,000 directly from users over a three-and-a-half-year period. Despite that ruling, Sky believes several individuals connected to the operation are still actively distributing illegal services.
A company investigator emphasized that urgent steps are being taken to shut down at least five resellers still operating, with the aim of disrupting piracy before the current Premier League campaign concludes.
Authorities have also intensified enforcement efforts more broadly. Earlier this year, police dismantled a major UK-based IPTV network following intelligence provided by Sky. A raid in Manchester led to four arrests and the seizure of ten high-value servers, with total confiscations exceeding £750,000.
The latest actions underline Sky’s growing commitment to tackling piracy, sending a strong warning to both providers and users of illegal streaming services.

Garnacho fined for speeding away from Man Utd training ground as Chelsea star left ‘embarrassed’
Alejandro Garnacho has issued an apology after being found guilty of a speeding offence committed last August, shortly before his move to Chelsea.
The 21-year-old winger was handed a £660 fine and three penalty points on his driving licence after admitting the offence at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court. The incident took place on August 26, just days before he completed his transfer from Manchester United.
Garnacho was caught driving at 50mph in a 40mph zone in his Audi RS 3, with the speed camera located near United’s Carrington training ground.

In a statement delivered through his legal representatives, the Argentine accepted responsibility for the mistake, explaining that it was an unintentional lapse. He expressed regret over the situation and acknowledged feeling embarrassed about the incident, while also offering an apology to the court for exceeding the speed limit.
The case initially included an additional allegation that Garnacho failed to respond to correspondence from Greater Manchester Police requesting confirmation of the driver’s identity. However, that charge was withdrawn after he admitted to the speeding offence.
The matter comes after a turbulent period in his career, with Garnacho having been sidelined at United last summer before securing his move to Chelsea. His final appearance for the Red Devils came off the bench in their Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.
Since joining Chelsea, he has featured 20 times in the Premier League, scoring once, and has made 36 appearances across all competitions. His latest outing came as a half-time substitute in last weekend’s 3-0 loss away to Everton.

Man Utd to make ‘formal approach’ for £80m star after Fernandes endorsement
Manchester United are preparing to step up their interest in Sandro Tonali with a formal move expected at the end of the season, as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
The 25-year-old has been a standout performer for Newcastle United since arriving from AC Milan in 2023 for £55 million. Tonali quickly became a key figure at St James’ Park, playing a major role in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup success last season and their run to the Champions League round of 16 this term.
His consistency hasn’t gone unnoticed across Europe. Arsenal were reportedly exploring a late move in January, and now United appear ready to take concrete action.

The club is prioritising midfield reinforcements ahead of the summer, with Tonali emerging as their leading target to replace Casemiro, who is expected to depart Old Trafford.
United have also been monitoring Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson, but Tonali is believed to be the preferred option. Reports suggest even club captain Bruno Fernandes has been impressed by the Italian’s performances under Eddie Howe.

With three years remaining on his contract — plus an option for an additional year — Newcastle are under no pressure to sell. It’s understood they would demand a fee in the region of £80 million for one of their most important players, who has missed just two league games all season.
Tonali’s future could hinge on whether Newcastle secure Champions League qualification. His agent, Giuseppe Riso, hinted that a decision will be made after the season, noting that while the midfielder is committed, the situation could evolve depending on how things finish.
Meanwhile, Howe has played down speculation, insisting Tonali remains fully focused and dedicated to the club, emphasizing that his mindset has always been about the team rather than personal matters.
