Man Utd ‘Line Up Flamengo Right-Back Wesley França in Deal Worth Over £20m

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Flamengo’s rising star Wesley França. The 21-year-old right-back has established himself as a key player for the Brazilian giants, playing a crucial role in their third-place finish in Brazil’s Serie A last season.

According to reports from Brazil, United scouts have been closely monitoring Wesley ahead of a potential £25 million transfer. The versatile defender is said to be a key target for new manager Ruben Amorim, who envisions him slotting into the right side of his preferred 3-4-3 formation.

Earlier this week, United reinforced their squad by signing left-sided full-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.

However, any potential deal for Wesley is expected to happen after the Club World Cup, where Flamengo will be competing in the newly expanded 63-game tournament set to begin on June 14.

The Brazilian club has already turned down a bid of over £20 million from Russian side Zenit, believing they can secure an even higher offer from United in the summer.

Meanwhile, United’s struggles under Amorim have raised concerns, with reports suggesting that nearly the entire squad could be up for sale as part of a major overhaul. The Portuguese coach, who took charge in November, has yet to make a significant impact, and frustrations have been mounting.

Last month, Amorim made headlines after admitting he lost his temper in the dressing room following a 3-1 defeat to Brighton, even smashing a TV in frustration.

He later explained that emotions got the better of him, acknowledging that he sometimes reacts impulsively but hopes to improve his composure in the future.
